Although my official “6 months out” date was last week, I had my follow up with the surgeon today. The nutritionist called me a “powerhouse.” I felt so badass when she said that!
According to their records, I’ve lost 110 lbs and 48% of my excess body fat.
They predicted I would have lost just under 100 and 44% by now so I’ve exceeded expectations. When it comes to weight loss and overall health, this is a really big deal for me. They asked what my difference was from months 3-6 compared to 0-3 and I didn’t really have a good answer. I think being diligent about my water intake and intentional about my “move more” lifestyle change have been two of the big keys.
I’m not going to lie or sugarcoat things though, these past two weeks have been tough. I think lots of things are happening all at once: I’m home more with more tempting food around and it’s beyond cold outside. I’m at a new comfort level with my body, pant size, weight lost, all of it, that is making me feel like I can relax some. Very dangerous! And that’s why I’m writing it out - so I can acknowledge this state of mind and hopefully get back to my more rigid attitude pretty quick. Cheese is soooo delicious though! Night time snacking is the bane of my existence! I really need to do something about that...
So for now I’ll leave this comparison shot right here. Me bringing my husband his birthday cake. The pic on the left is from last December, 2016. The one on the right from this past one, 2017. Look at my face and neck. Wow is pretty much all I have to say about that!
